Privacy Notice

This Privacy Notice explains how A Caregiver's Corner(“we,” “us,” or “our”), which operates Calm & Clarity, collects, uses, and protects your personal information. We act as the data controller for the information you provide to us through the Service.
1. What we collect
- Account data: your email address and password (hashed) when you sign up, and your name/avatar if you sign in with Google.
- Service content you create: daily check-ins, journal entries, custom prayers and affirmations, hydration and nutrition logs, reminders, reflection chat messages, community posts and replies.
- Subscription & entitlement data: subscription status, billing period, and the Paddle customer/subscription identifiers needed to manage your access.
- Technical & usage data: device type, browser, IP address, and basic interaction logs used for security, debugging, and improving the Service.
Payment-card details are collected and processed by Paddle, not by us. We never see or store your full card number.
2. How we use your data & legal bases
- To create and operate your account and provide the Service (contract).
- To deliver Premium features to subscribers and manage billing (contract).
- To keep the Service secure and prevent abuse (legitimate interests).
- To respond to support requests (contract / legitimate interests).
- To improve the Service and fix bugs (legitimate interests).
- To comply with legal obligations (legal obligation).
3. Who we share data with
- Paddle, our Merchant of Record, for payments, subscription management, tax compliance, invoicing, and refund handling. See Paddle's Privacy Policy.
- Hosting & infrastructure providers who host the app and database on our behalf.
- Authentication providers (e.g. Google) if you choose to sign in with them.
- Professional advisers (legal, accounting) and authorities where required by law.
We do not sell your personal data.
4. International transfers
Your data may be processed in countries outside the UK/EEA, including the United States, where our service providers operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.
5. Data retention
We retain your account and content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or ask us to delete your data, we'll remove or anonymize your personal information unless we're required to keep it (for example, billing records Paddle must retain for tax purposes). Backups are rotated on a regular schedule.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict our processing of your personal data, and to object to certain processing or withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, email sdg21@acaregiverscorner.com. We'll respond within one month. If you're in the UK or EEA, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
7. Security
We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls, and row-level security on the database. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep yours safe.
8. Cookies & local storage
We use essential cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in and to remember small preferences (such as whether you've seen the welcome screen). We don't use third-party advertising cookies.
9. Children
The Service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided data to us, please contact us and we'll remove it.
